Consagracion a Dios Consecrated to God

En Exodo 29. vemos la consagración de Aaron y sus hijos como sacerdotes de Dios. Para ello Dios les pidió primero que sacrificaran un becerro fuera del campamento. Esto es interesante ya que hicieron lo mismo con Jesús, el fue sacrificado a las afueras de la ciudad, en un lugar llamado "la Calavera". Luego Dios les pidió que sacrificara a dos corderos. el primero tenía que ser sacrificado al fuego por completo, mientras que del segundo ellos podían tomar un poco de carne como provisión para su sutento. A mi me llama la atención el primer de estos dos corderos. el Señor quiere que sea sacrificado por completo, "todo para él y nada para los sacerdotes". Creo que esa es la fórmula que nos lleva a una relación íntima con Dios. Aarón y sus hijos ya habían sacrificado el becerro para el perdón de sus pecado, pero la ofrenda de olor grato a Dios tenía que ser íntegra. Como cristianos ya hemos sido perdonados y limpiados con la sangre derramada por el cordero de Dios en la Cruz, pero si realmente queremos llegar a disfrutar de esa comunión íntima y real, nuestra ofrenda de olor grato debe ser total, como es descrita en Romanos 12. Nuestra vida es la ofrenda que le agrada al Señor. Si tú eres cristiano y haz sido limpiado por cristo, pero tienes un área de tu vida reservada para tí, te invito a que se la entregues al Señor. No nos engañemos, no podemor disfrutar de su presencia teniendo el pecado en nuestro bolsillo.

Dios te bendiga.

In Exodus 29. We can see when Aaron and his sons were consecrated to God. First of all, God request to them to sacrifice a bullock outside of the camp. That is interesting because when Jesus was crucified, it was outside of the city. Then, God request to sacrifice two rams. The first one was an offering to God and it had to be sacrificed completely, while of the second one Aaron and his sons can take a part as a provission for them. For me, it is interesting about the first ram because I think than it is a formula for me: "all for God and nothing for me". If I want to have a real relationship with my God, I need to give Him all my life. As a Christian, I was cleaned and forgiven of my sin with the blood spilled in the cross by my Jesus. but, every day I need to offer all my life as a offering to God. Romans 12 talk about that. I can´t to walk with God in a beautiful relationship with sin in my pocket.

Calvary Chapel River side

two weeks ago, the missionary team from Calvary Chapel River side came to Cañete. It was their first time here in Peru. We hope see you again guys!!

Calvary Chapel Boynton Beach

One week ago, we had to Calvary Chapel Boynton Beach in Cañete. This missionary team helped us to share with kids and adults the love of God. They showed to the kids an interesting puppet about the life of Daniel. They showed a mime about the creation in the Plaza. They enjoyed a lot the food prepared by Luz. It was good to see our old friends and to meet new friends also, thank you Robert for the pictures. Thank you guys, I hope see you again next year.

Hace una semana tuvimos al grupo misionero de Calvary Chapel Boynton Beach por Cañete. Ellos nos ayudaron a compartir con niños y adultos el amor de Dios. Ellos mostraron a los niños un títere muy interesante acerca de la vida de Daniel y también hicieron mimos en la plaza de San Vicente. Fue bueno ver a viejos amigos y conocer nuevos también, Gracias chicos, espero verlos el próximo año.

Calvary Chapel of Maryland

Few weeks ago, we met to some pleasant guys; they came from a Calvary Chapel church from Maryland. It was their first time here in Cañete; they came with Miguelito and Linda, a nice couple that we met last year. Together we went to Playa Hermosa and enjoyed sharing time with the kids there. Miguelito and Linda stay here still, this Tuesday we are going to Playa Hermosa and project the Jesus film. Pray for that, we invited to all the people in Playa Hermosa.

Hace unas semanas conocimos a un agradable grupo de chicos, ellos venían de una iglesia de Calvary Chapel de Maryland. Fue su primera vez aquí en Cañete, ellos vinieron con Miguelito y Linda; una linda pareja de esposos que conocimos el año pasado. Juntos fuimos a Playa Hermosa y disfrutamos pasar tiempo con los niños allí. Miguelito y Linda todavía están en Lima y este martes vamos a ir a Playa Hermosa a proyectar la Película de Jesús. Oremos por eso, hemos invitado a toda la gente de Playa Hermosa para que venga.

Calvary Chapel Ramona

Last month we received to Calvary Chapel Ramona in Cañete. They sharing with the kids a mime called Redeemer, good job guys!! Ah, they enjoyed a lot the chocotejas…me too!!

El último mes recivimos en Cañete a Calvary Chapel Ramona. Ellos compartieron con los niños un mimo llamado Redentor, buen trabajo chicos!! ah, ellos disfrutaron mucho de las chocotejas....yo también!!

El pecado de Acán. Achan´s sin.

"Por eso los israelitas no podrán hacerles frente a sus enemigos, sino que tendrán que huir de sus adversarios. Ellos mismos se acarrearon su destrucción. Y si no destruyen ese botín que está en medio de ustedes, yo no seguiré a su lado." Josué 7:12.

El Señor había ordenado a su pueblo destruir la ciudad de Jericó, y también les ordenó que exterminaran todo salvo el oro, la plata y los utensilios de bronce que irían al tesoro del Señor. Y así lo hicieron, excepto Acán. Él había visto un hermoso manto de Babilonia, 200 monedas de plata, y un lingote de oro de medio kilo y decidió quedarse con todo esto; nadie lo vio y nadie se daría cuenta ya que este botín estaba enterrado en medio de su tenta. Luego cuando el pueblo de Dios fue a la guerra, una de las batallas más sencillas se convirtió en terrible derrota. Ellos ya no podían hacerles frente a sus enemigos porque alguien en el pueblo había pecado.
Creo que el pecado de Acán fue en dos direcciones, cuando decidió quedarse con el manto, estaba conservando algo que Dios había dicho que destruyera. Por otro lado cuando se quedó con el oro y la plata, se estaba quedando con algo que le pertenecía a Dios.
Pensemos por un momento en aquello que ha dicho Dios que no es bueno en nuestra vida y que nos ha pedido que lo destruyamos, y no lo hemos hecho aún, que permanece oculto a los demás, pero que nosotros y Dios sí sabemos que aún está allí.
También pensemos en aquello que le pertenece a Dios y que a veces nos apropiamos, por ejemplo la gloria; cuando algo en nuestras manos sale bien y pensamos en lo buenos que somos en eso, estamos robándole la gloria a Dios. Se me ocurre que otro ejemplo es el diezmo, sabemos que le pertenece a Dios, pero lo retenemos "porque lo necesitamos". Lo triste de esta historia de Acán es su final, termina destruido a causa de su pecado. El Señor quiere que tengamos una vida en abundancia, para eso ha venido, pero si nosotros decidimos quedarnos con aquello que debe ser destruido o le quitamos lo que le pertenece a Dios, no podremos tener victoria....."Señor escudriña nuestro corazón y muéstranos nuestro pecado". Amén

“That is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies; they turn their backs and run because they have been made liable to destruction. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction.” Joshua 7:12.

God command his people destroy the city of Jericho, they should exterminate all except gold, silver and bronze because are sacred to the Lord and must go into his treasury. They did it, except Achan, he saw a beautiful robe from Babylonia, two hundred shekels of silver and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels and he coveted them and he took them. Nobody saw him when he did it, and he buried his treasure into his tent. When the Israelites came to the war they lost before the enemy, because of sin.
I think Achan sin in two ways: He does not be obeying when God told him to destroy all. When we refused to obey to destroy a particular sin in our life, we become to be as Achan.
Also, when Achan took the gold, silver, etc. He took something that belonged to God. We do the same thing. When we keep the glory that belongs to God, when we keep the money that belongs to God. This could be hide for a time, as the treasure of Achan, but that brings destruction to our lives. “Father God, examine ours hearts and show us if we have sin…”

Jesús sana a un leproso Jesus heals a leper

Mateo 8:1-4. "Cuando Jesús bajó de la ladera de la montaña, lo siguieron grandes multitudes.
Un hombre que tenía lepra se le acercó y se arrodilló delante de él. --Señor, si quieres, puedes limpiarme --le dijo. Jesús extendió la mano y tocó al hombre. --Sí quiero --le dijo--. ¡Queda limpio! La lepra era un a enfermedad incurable en esos días. Producida por una bacteria llamada bacilo de Hansen (o Micobacterium leprae), debido a su descubridor. Esta enfermedad produce lesiones serias en la piel y puede dañar mucho al cuerpo. El día de hoy se puede tratar con ciertos medicamentos y hasta el 99% pueden ser sanados. Pero en los tiempos bíblicos era incurable, Las autoridades religiosas de la época ordenaron que el pueblo tomara ciertas medidas para evitar el contagio entre el pueblo. Las personas que tenían sospechas de tener lepra tenían que venir ante el sacerdote y este era el que declaraba si era lepra o no. Cuando una persona era declarada leprosa, era considerada inmunda, por lo tanto su relación con la sociedad cambiaba. No podían estar a menos de dos metros de distancia de las demás personas sin gritar ¡inmundo, inmundo!, y tenían que vestir ropas que los identificaran como leprosos. Tenían que vestir ropas rasgadas, y con la cabeza cubierta. Cuando iban a otro lugar y el viento soplaba hacia donde ellos iban no podían acercarse menos de 90 metros sin gritar ¡inmundo, inmundo!, así la gente podía alejarse de ellos; pero si el viento soplaba en contra de donde iban, se podían acercar 35 metros y luego empezar a gritar. No tenían vida social, ni su familia los podía tocar, solo entre leprosos podían tener un poco de compañerismo, Vivian deambulando por las calles a los alrededores del pueblo.

Y allí estaba este hombre leproso, postrado a los pies de Jesús, con su mirada fija en el suelo. Había tenido lepra tal vez por mucho tiempo y cuando oyó que venía Jesús, no lo pensó y vino a su encuentro. Este hombre puso en riesgo su vida, se acercó a menos de dos metros de Jesús; si Jesús quería podía acusarlo ante los sacerdotes y lo matarían. Pero no lo hizo, ¿qué fue lo que hizo Jesús? Lo que por mucho tiempo la gente no había hecho por este hombre. ¿Qué era lo que la gente hacia cuando escuchaba ¡inmundo, inmundo!? La gente se apartaba para que pase el leproso, a lo mucho alguien con un poco de misericordia le dejaría la comida en el piso para que el leproso la tomara, o le tiraría un pan para que coma; pero Jesús no corrió de este sino que lo, ¡tocó! Este hombre estaba esperando que Jesús declarara su sanidad, pero en lugar de eso Jesús le tocó primero. Este hombre sintió la mano de alguien sobre su hombro después de muchos años de indiferencia. Jesús le mostró su amor a este hombre antes de sanarle; pero también le sanó.
Jesús no está interesado sólo en sanarnos, que sí lo necesitamos; sino que él quiere darnos su amor, quiere hacer lo que no ha hecho nadie: amarnos de verdad.

Otra cosa interesante de este pasaje es que el leproso sabía que Jesús podía sanarlo, pero aún así el dijo: “si tu quieres…puedes sanarme” hay gente que dice que si uno ora así, es falta de fe. Pero lo interesante es que Jesús le responde:”si, quiero, sé limpio”. Creo que no mostramos falta de fe cuando le pedimos al Señor que haga su voluntad a pesar de nuestros deseos.

Matthew 8:1-4. "When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them."Leprosy was a incurable disease in those days. It is caused by a bacteria called bacilo of Hansen (or mycobacterium leprae), by the guy that discovered it. This disease produces serious lesions in the skin and can do a lot of damage to the body. Today, leprosy can be treated with certain medicines and up to 99% can be healed, but in those days it was incurable. The religious authorities in that day ordered people to take certain precautions to avoid the spreading of leprosy to other people. The people who they thought might have leprosy had to go to the priest and the priest would tell them whether or not they had leprosy. When a person was declared a leper, they were considered unclean. This made their relationship with society change. They couldn’t be within about 6 and a half feet of someone without having to yell “unclean, unclean” and they had to wear certain clothes that would identify them as lepers. They wore clothes that were torn and covered their heads. When they went to another place and the wind was blowing towards where they were going, they couldn’t get any closer than about 295 feet from others without yelling “unclean, unclean” so the people could get away from them. If the wind was blowing against where they were going, they could get about 115 feet from others and then start yelling. They didn’t have a social life, not even with their families could touch them. They could only have a little fellowship with other lepers. They lived their lives wandering through the street and the outskirts of the town.So there was this leper, before the feet of Jesus, looking at the ground. Maybe he had had leprosy for a long time and when he heard that Jesus was coming, he didn’t think about it, he just came. This man put his life at stake because he came closer than 6 and a half feet to Jesus and if Jesus wanted to, he could have accused him before the priests and they would have killed him. But that is not what Jesus did. What did Jesus do? He did what people had not done for a long time for this man. What did the people do when they heard “unclean, unclean”? The people got out of the leper’s way until he went by. At the most, someone that had compassion on him would leave him a little food on the ground so he could eat or they would throw him a loaf of bread so he could eat, but Jesus didn’t run from him, He touched him! This man wanted Jesus to heal him, but instead of healing him, Jesus touched him first. This man felt the hand of someone on his shoulder after so many years of indifference. Jesus showed him His love before healing him and then He also healed him. Jesus is not just interested in healing us, but He wants to give us His love. He wants to do something that no one has ever done: really love us.Another thing that is interesting in this passage is that the leper knew that Jesus could heal him, but he still ask, “If you want, you can heal me.” There are people who say that if you pray like this, you lack faith. What is interesting is that Jesus said to him, “I want to, be healed.” I think that we are not showing a lack of faith when we pray to the Lord and ask Him to do His will despite our own desires.

Lo que le damos a Dios What we give to God

En Éxodo 25:1-7. vemos que Dios le pide a Moisés que diga al pueblo que le trajeran ofrendas para construír el santuario. este santuario sería el lugar donde habitaría la presencia de Dios, el lugar donde se ofrecerían los sacrificios por el pecado, sería un lugar de comunión entre Dios y su pueblo. Y en el versículo 1 Dice que esta ofrenda sería en forma voluntaria. Cuando pienso en el sacrificio que Dios espera de nosotros el día de hoy, es decir nuestra vida; Él espera que esa entrega sea de forma voluntaria. Dios espera que nosotros dediquemos el íntegro de nuestras vidas en respuesta a su amor por nosotros. Si lo hacemos en forma obligada ya no estamos haciéndolo por amor, sino por obligación.
Algo que me gusta de este pasaje es que después de que Dios dice que la ofrenda es voluntaria, Dios da una lista de los materiales que Él esperaba que el pueblo trajera (en forma voluntaria). esto me hace pensar en que, a pesar de que Dios espera que le entregue mi vida en forma voluntaria, no se la puedo dar como yo quiero. Así como el santuario era un lugar de perdón de pecados y comunión con Dios, si yo quiero experimentar el perdon de Dios y su presencia en mi vida, no le puedo dar mi vida como yo quiero sino como Él quiere. Amén!

In Exodus 25:1-7, we see that God asks Moses to tell the people to bring offerings so that they can build the sanctuary. This sanctuary would be the place where the presence of the Lord would dwell, the place where they would offer sacrifices for sin. It would be a place of cummunion between God and His people. In verse 1, it says that this offering would be a voluntary one. When I think of the sacrifice that God wants from us today, our lives; He wants us to offer ourselves willingly. God wants us to dedicate all of our lives in response to His love for us. If we do this because we feel obligated to, we are not doing it for love but because we feel obligated.Something that I like about this passage is that after God says that the offering was to be voluntary, He gives a list of things that He wanted the people to bring (still voluntarily). This makes me think that, even though God wants me to give my life to Him voluntarily, I can't give it to Him any way I want to. Just like the sanctuary was a place of the forgiveness of sins and communion with God, if I want to have the forgiveness of God and His presence en mi life, I can't give Him my life any way I want to, but in the way that He wants me to. Amen!

Ministrando a niños y jóvenes Ministering to kids and young people

Estaba leyendo en el libro de éxodo 24:5. donde dice: "Luego envió a unos jóvenes israelitas para que ofrecieran al Señor novillos como holocaustos y sacrificios de comunión"

Me gusta este pasaje porque veo como Moisés hace participar a los jóvenes en el ministerio al Señor. y eso me anima mucho porque es lo mismo que queremos hacer por los niños y los jóvenes en Cañete, que ellos entreguen sus propias vidas como un sacrificio vivo al Señor. Estamos muy contentos porque muchos de los niños que el Señor ha traído a la iglesia para que les enseñemos la Palabra de Dios, ya lo conocen. Y muchos de los jóvenes están animados también. Gloria a Dios!!

I was reading in the book of Exodus 24:5 where it says, "And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD." I like this part because I see how Moses had the young people help with ministering to the Lord and this really encourages me because it is the same thing that we want to do for the kids and young people en Cañete so that they would give their lives as a living sacrifice to the Lord. We are very happy because a lot of the kids that the Lord has brought to the church to learn the word of God have learned it and a lot of the youth are encouraged too. Glory to God!!

Petición de oración Prayer Request

Hola hermanos y amigos, queremos agradecer su tiempo en el que ustedes entran a este blog y tratan de enterarse lo que está pasando en el ministerio de Cañete. Queremos pedir de ustedes oración en un tema específico:
Actualmente nos estamos reuniendo en un local que rentamos una vez por semana, los miércoles. Este local ha sido de una gran bendición para el ministerio, pero el ministerio a crecido y ahora necesitamos que el estudio de los niños sea dividido en por lo menos dos clases separándolos por edades; en el estudio de los adultos también necesitamos tener más de un ambiente para que los padres que vienen con sus niños los puedan dejar en otro salón y poder estar atentos con el estudio. Hasta ahora no hemos podido hacer los cambios necesarios al local que tenemos, que es un sólo ambiente grande, porque sólo lo rentamos un día a la semana. Entonces oramos para que el Señor provea de lo necesario para poder alquilar este local u otro a tiempo completo y poder hacer los arreglos necesarios. Gracias por orar por nosotros, Gracias por participar en este ministerio. Dios los bendiga.
Greetings friends! First of all we want to thank you for taking the time to visit this blog to find out what is happening with the church in Cañete. Please pray with us for the following: Currently, we meet on Wednesdays in a one-room space that we rent out one day-a-week. What a blessing this space has been! God has been adding to the ministry and we are feeling the growing pains. We would like to divide according to age the children’s bible study that meets on Wednesday afternoons. This would require two separate rooms to meet in. We also need more than one room for the adult service that meets on Wednesday nights. The second room would be used to provide childcare so the adults could worship God and study the bible without distraction. So far we have not made any changes or divisions in the area that we meet in because we only rent it one day-a-week. So let's pray that the Lord provides for us to rent this space or another full-time, and that He provides for the modifications to the space. Thank you for praying for us, thank you for being a part of this ministry and God bless you.

El Bautismo de Gustavo Gustavo´s Baptism

Hace unos mese llegó una señora nueva a nuestra iglesia, la señora Flor de María. Ella es una persona muy agradable, es de aquellas personas que siempre tienen una sonrisa para tí. Recuerdo mucho que ella desde los primeros días me dijo: Pastor jaime, por favor ore por mi "flaquito", mi hijo, él necesita conocer al Señor. Hemos estado orando por él por algunas semanas y un día, por fin se animó Gustavo a venir a la iglesia. Gustavo es un joven de 16 años que ahora está muy animado por seguir a Cristo. Hace una semana me dijo que quería bautizarse, así que este martes último fuimos temprano a Playa Hermosa y lo bautizamos. Es hermoso ver cómo el Señor está cambiando la vida de Gustavo, poco a poco le está mostrando más de su amor. Me anima mucho ver cómo el Señor está tocando a los jóvenes de la iglesia, porque cuando pienso en los grandes hombres de la historia del cristianismo, hombres como Daniel, Samuel, Timoteo; ellos fueron tocados por el Señor dede muy jóvenes. Creo que el Señor quiere usar a estos jóvenes de Cañete para su gloria, y que honor para mí poder participar en esto. Oro al Señor para que me de la sabiduría para hacerlo. Por favor oren nosotros.

Ms. Flor de María started to come to the church a few months ago, when I know her she told me: pastor Jaime, please, pray for my son, he needs to know to Jesus. We pray for him for two weeks. One day, Gustavo came to the church. Gustavo is 16 years old and he is to animated for following to Jesus. One week ago Gustavo told me that he wants to baptise, so last Tuesday we done. It´s a pleasure to see how God is changing his life. little by little God is showing to Gustavo more and more of his love. I´m to animated, I can see how God in working in the life of the youths. When I think in men in the bible, like Samuel, Daniel, Timoty; their lives were changed when they are only teenagers. I´m sure than God wants to use this guys in Canete for His glory and it´s a privilege to me be part on this. I ask to God for wisdom. Please pray for us.

Actuando a tiempo Working in time

En esta historia, José es avisado por Dios de las intenciones de Herodes de querer matar al niño Jesús. Herodes estaba furioso pues ya había sido burlado por los magos, quienes no regresaron a darle aviso de dónde estaba el niño. Vemos que Dios pone sobre aviso a José para que huya a Egipto, pues la vida del niño estaba en peligro. A mi me llama la atención que José no espero mucho tiempo para obedecer a Dios sino que lo hizo de inmediato. Dice que cuando escuchó el aviso de Dios, lo primero que hizo fue obedecer. A mi me gustaría ser como José. A veces el Señor nos muestra algo que tenemos que hacer y nosotros siempre ponemos excusas y tardamos en hacerlo. ¿Qué hubiera pasado si José hubiera tardado unos días en obedecer? Tenemos que obedecer a Dios en el momento que nos habla, no tenemos que poner excusas. Si Dios te ha mostrado algún cambio importante en tu vida, ahora es el tiempo de hacerlo, no esperes y deja de poner excusas.

In this history Joseph is told by God that Herod wanted to kill Jesus. Herod was furious because the wise men had tricked him because they had not come back to tell him where the Child was. We see that God warned Joseph to run to Egypt because the life of the Child was in danger. When I read this, I noticed that Joseph didn't wait long to obey God, but he did it right away. It says that when he heard the warning of God, the first thing he did was obey. I would like to be like Joseph. Sometimes the Lord shows us something that we need to do and we always make excuses and try to wait to do it. What would have happened if Joseph had waited a few days before he obeyed? We need to obey God the moment that He speaks to us and we don't have any excuses not to. If God has shown you something important that you need to change in your life, now is the time to do it. Don't wait and let yourself make excuses!

Jesús fue rechazado Jesus was rejected

Esta tarde empezamos a estudiar con los adolescentes el evangelio de Mateo. En el capítulo 01 cuando el ángel le anuncia a José que el embarzo de su prometida María no era producto de una infidelidad, sino que era obra del Espíritu Santo; él sintió un gran alivio al saber que la historia que su amada le había contado tratando de explicar su embarazo, era cierta, y no era una invención descabellada para no aceptar su engaño. Si nos ponemos a pensar en cómo cambió la vida de toda la familia cuando Dios les encargó el nacimiento de su Hijo, incluso para el mismo Jesús, nos daremos cuenta de que fue un cambio dificil. Por ejemplo, cuando María y José se casaron, era obvio que la barriguita de María ya había crecido un poco; tal vez no se notaba mucho, pero seguro que hubieron quienes hicieron números y cayeron en cuenta que María se había casado !embarazada! y según los rumores el hijo no era de José. María pasó a ser una de las menos invitadas a las reuniones sociales y siempre había quienes murmuraban a espaldas de José. Cuando Jesús nació y empezó a crecer imagino que no faltaron los rumores en torno a su nacimiento, y sus hermanos ni que decirlo; ellos tuvieron que soportar las burlas de sus amiguitos quienes decían que su hermano mayor era hijo ilegítimo; eso tuvo que haber deteriorado la relación entre Jesús y sus hermanos. Tal vez esta fue una de las razones por la que los hermanos de Jesús no llegaron a creer en él sino hasta que resucitó. Cuando sucedió esto ya no quedó duda de que todos los rumores habían sido sin fundamento.
Creo que es importante pensar en esto por un momento, ya que muchas veces nosotros como cristianos somos objeto de burlas, rechazos; nos volvemos menos "populares"; pero eso no debe afectarnos ya que nuestro Señor también lo experimentó. Jesús no fue objeto de burlas a partir del ejercicio de su ministerio; sino que las burlas y el rechazo fueron algo de toda su vida. ¿la gente se burla de tí?, anímate la recompenza es grande.

This afternoon, we started to study the Gospel of Matthew with the adolescents. In chapter 1, when the angel announced the pregnancy of Mary to her fiancé Joseph and that it was not the result of unfaithfulness, but a work of the Holy Spirit, Joseph must have felt relieved to know that the story that Mary had told him about her pregnancy was true and wasn't a wild story that she told him to cover for herself. If we think about how life changed for the whole family, even Jesus, when He was born, we can see that is was a pretty difficult change for them. For example, when Mary and Joseph got married, it was obvious that Mary's stomach had grown a little. Maybe it wasn't really noticable, but there were probably people who were good with numbers and figured out that Mary was pregnant when she got married and according to the rumors, it wasn't Joseph's child! Mary was probably almost never invited to social gatherings and there was always someone talking behind Joseph's back. When Jesus was born and started to grow, I imagine that there were no lack of rumors. Even his brothers had to live with a lot of jokes from their friends who said that their older brother was illegitament. This must have effected Jesus' relationship with His brothers. Maybe this is why His brothers didn't believe in Him until after He rose from the dead. When that happened, there was no doubt that all the rumors had been baseless.I think it is important to think about this for a moment. A lot of times, we, as Christians, are also laughed at, rejected and lose popularity, but that shouldn't affect us now that our Lord also suffered these things. People didn't start laughing at Jesus for the first time when He started His ministry, the laughter and the rejection was something that He had to deal with all of His life. Do people laugh at you? Don't worry, the reward is great!

Perseverando en la oración Persevering In Prayer

¿Alguna vez hubo alguien en tu iglesia que estaba muy animada en las cosas del Señor y de pronto dejó de venir a los estudios y que con el tiempo dejó de interesarse en Dios?. ¿qué hiciste por él? seguro que lo mismo que yo, después de animarlo a regresar y sin lograr nada lo único que te quedaba era orar por él.

los primeros meses orabas casi a diario por él. después de un año lo mencionabas esporádicamente en tus oraciones y tiempo después cuando pensabas en él sentías una gran tristeza en tu corazón al verlo alejado totalmente de los caminos del Señor y pensabas que tal vez nunca regresaría al Señor. Era tu amigo, lo saludabas en las calles, pero sabías que su interes por el Señor era sólo un añejo recuerdo en su mente. Tu te acostumbraste a su ausencia en la iglesia.

Eso me pasó hace poco a mi. dejé de orar por alguien porque había perdido la fe en que regresaría, ya me había hecho a la idea de que Kervin era parte de las estadísticas de pérdidas en la iglesia, pero gracias a Dios me equivoqué. Nuestras oraciones realmente mueven la mano de Dios, pero cuando no oramos; la mano de Dios se sigue moviendo a su voluntad. Gracias a Dios la salvación de Kervin no dependía de mis escualidas oraciones sino de la misericordia y la voluntad de nuestro soberano Dios. El día que Kervin vino a mi casa para contarme que había recivido a Cristo como su Salvador, tuve que confesarle con mucha verguenza que había dejado de orar por él.
Si has dejado de orar por alguien, si has perdido las esperanzas por ese amigo o familiar; es tiempo de retomar las armas y perseverar. El Señor anhela ser glorificado a través de las oraciones contestadas. Anímatey ora !!ahora mismo!!

Has there ever been anyone in your church who was really excited about the things of the Lord and then all of the sudden quit coming to church and finally quit being interested in God? What did you do for them? Probably the same thing I did, encourage them to come back to church and when that didn't work, the only thing you could do for them is pray. During the first months, you prayed just about every day for them. After a year, you prayed for them every now and again and then later, when you thought of this person, you felt a deep sadness in your heart to see them so far from the Lord and started to think that maybe they would never return to Him. They were your friend. You said hi to them when you saw them in the street, but you knew that their interest in the Lord was only an old memory in their mind. You got used to them not coming to church.This happened to me a few days ago. I stopped praying for someone because I had lost faith that they would return. I thought that Kervin was another statistic of a Christian who fell away, but thank God I was mistaken. Our prayers really move the hand of God but when we don't pray, God's hand just keeps moving the way it was going. Thanks be to God that Kervin's salvation no depended on my weak prayers but on the mercy and the will of our sovereign God. The day that Kervin came to my house to tell me that he had received Christ as his Savior, I had to confess to him with a lot of embarassment that I had stopped praying for him.If you have stopped praying for someone. If you have lost hope for that friend of family member, it is time to go back and persevere. The Lord wants to glorify Himself through answered prayers. Be encouraged and pray for that person right now!!

El regreso de Kervin Kervin´s return

Hace cinco años, cuando empezamos a venir a Cañete para predicar la Palabra de Dios conocimos a muchos niños y uno de ellos era Kervin. Al comienzo Kervin era un aplicado estudiante de la biblia pero los meses pasaron y por alguna razón él dejó de interesarse en las cosas de Dios. El tiempo pasó y su interes por el Señor era menor y pronto dejó de venir a los estudios, entonces lo único que pudimos hacer era orar por él. los años pasaron y hace una semana Kervin vino muy apurado a mi casa "estoy muy emocionado"-me dijo- "algo maravilloso ha pasado, ayer reciví al Señor como el Salvador de mi vida y ahora sé que soy un Hijo de Dios". El martes de oración vino a mi casa y con su biblia en las manos me dijo: "compárteme algo que me pueda edificar y ayudar a conocer más del Señor". Él está muy animado y está viniendo a todos los estudios de la iglesia. Él es sólo un adolescente de 14 años de edad y este es sólo su comienzo con el Señor, ahora es tiempo de transformar esta emoción en un fundamento real a través de la Palabra de Dios. Oremos por él.


five years ago, when we started to come to Canete to preach the word of God, we met many children and Kervin was one of them. At the beginning he was an excellent student of the bible but months later he didn´t want to know anything about Jesus. Time happening and he was less interested in God. He stopped coming to church and the only thing that we could do for him was to pray. The years happened and a few weeks ago he came to my house very quickly " I´m so excited"- he told me- "something wonderful has happened, Yesterday I received to Christ as my savior and now I´m a child of God".
The last tuesday he came to my house and he took his bible in his hands and told me: "I need to know more about God, please preach me something". He is to animated and he is coming to the church. Kervin is just a teenager with 14 years old. This is his beginning and now it´s time to convert this emotion into an real foundation through the word of God. Let´s pray for him.

El dolor del sacrificio

Han pasado 25 días desde el nacimiento de nuestro Esteban, el tiempo pasa muy rápido. Mi esposa dice que mientras estaba dando a luz, ella sintió esta vez mucho más dolor que cuando nació nuestra María Fe. Y mientras estaba con el inmenso dolor, el Señor puso en su mente el dolor que sintió Cristo en su pasión. Ella dice que ahora puede ver de una perspectiva diferente el sacrificio de Cristo en la Cruz.

25 days have happened from the birth of our Esteban, the time happens very rapidly. My wife says that while she was giving birth, she felt this time a lot more pain than when our Maria Fe was born. And while she was with the immense pain, the Lord put in her mind the pain that Christ felt in His passion. She says that now she can see of a different perspective Christ's sacrifice in the Cross.

It´s a Boy!!!! Es varón!!!!

Hola Hermanos y amigos, estamos muy contentos porque nuestro Esteban ya nació. Nació este viernes 17 a las 2:18 p.m. y con la gracia de Dios todo salió bien, Silvia está recuperándose y espero que pronto estemos de regreso en casa. Muchas gracias por sus oraciones!!

Hello dear Brothers , we are very happy because our Esteban already was borned. He was borned Friday 17th at 2:18 p.m. With the grace of God everything are very well. Sylvia is recovering and I hope that soon we are going back home. Thank you very much for your prayers!!

Nuestra familia está creciendo…Nuestro segundo bebé llegará pronto. El médico dice que sera varoncito. Ahora estamos haciendo los preparativos respectivos. Gracias por sus oraciones!!

Acerca de Cañete About to Canete

Cañete es un valle agrícola ubicado a 142 Km. al sur de Lima, esta zona es productora de abundante fruta debido a que está irrigado por tres ríos. la provincia de Cañete Tiene 152 378 habitantes y tiene 16 distritos, de los cuales San Vicente es el más importante. Otro de los atractivos de Cañete es que tiene muy lindas playas. Las personas se dedican al comercio, la agricultura y pesca artesanal.
Nuestra iglesia está ubicada en San Vicente. El ministerio tiene cerca de 05 años de los cuales en los últimos dos años mi esposa y Yo nos mudamos aquí. El ministerio en San Vicente empezó con niños, luego de 05 años estos niños han crecido y son los adolescentes de la iglesia y dentro de poco serán los adultos. actualmente tenemos aproximadamente 60 niños y 15 adultos. Nuestra visión es hacer de estos niños, jóvenes y adultos discípulos de Cristo. Para ello tenemos estudios biblicos para niños, estudios para adolescentes y también para adultos. Por el momento nuestros estudios de adultos es una vez por semana, pero parece que dentro de poco tendremos dos. Estamos muy contento porque el Señor nos ha permitido ver cómo los niños también pueden tener una fe verdadera en él y eso ha sido muy inspirador en nuestra vida.

Cañete is an agricultural valley located to 142 Kilometers to the south of Lima. Cañete produces abundant fruit because is irrigated by three rivers. Cañete haves 152 378 inhabitants and haves 16 districts, San Vicente is the main district with 20 thousand inhabitants. Another beautiful thing in Cañete are the beaches.
People here spend there time working on farms, raising livestock, and simple fishing.
Our church is located in San Vicente. We are ministryng here for 05 years but we moved to here 02 years ago. The ministry here began with children but 05 years later they grew and now we have many teenagers. At present we are 15 adults and 60 children in San Vicente. Our vision is to make of these children, teenagers and adults disciples for the Lord. At the moment we have only one bible study at week but I thing than soon we will have two. The Lord blessed to us permitting to see how childrens can have a real faith in Him. Gloria a Dios!!
